A Bonsai root hook is used when repotting a tree, it allows the Bonsai artist to safely remove old soil from the root mass whilst raking out tangled roots safely. The tip of the hook is rounded reducing the chance of damaging roots but thick enough to last for many years. A simple but effective tool.
